  • RHSA-2011:0918Red Hat Security Advisory: curl security update2011-07-05csaf · redhat_csafUS

Updated curl packages that fix one security issue are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, 5, and 6. The Red Hat Security Response Team has rated this update as having moderate security impact. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score, which gives a detailed severity rating, is available from the CVE link in the References section.

  • CURL-CVE-2011-2192inappropriate GSSAPI delegation2011-06-23vendor · osvUS

When doing GSSAPI authentication, libcurl unconditionally performs credential delegation. This hands the server a copy of the client's security credentials, allowing the server to impersonate the client to any other using the same GSSAPI mechanism. This is obviously a sensitive operation, which should only be done when the user explicitly so directs. The GSS/Negotiate feature is only used by libcurl for HTTP authentication if told to, and only if libcurl was built with a library that provides the GSSAPI. Many builds of libcurl do not have GSS enabled.
